Trailer Hire
Here at Barlow Trailers in Lancashire, we have over 100 trailers for rent, available for anything from 1 days trailer rental to long term hire. Please note first time hirers will need a valid UK driving licence, utility bill dated within the last 60 days and a credit/debit card in the same name as the driving licence.
Legal Requirements for Trailer Hire
It is up to the hirer to check they have the correct entitlement on their driving licence (must be a UK one) to ensure they are legal to tow the trailer they are hiring, if you are unsure please visit the Towing and the Law page on our website.
Information on Number Plates for when You Hire
It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure there is a legal number plate on the trailer you are hiring, we can provide the means to fix it onto the trailer if need be. If you do not have a number plate and wish to purchase one, the cost is £10.00 + VAT, however we CANNOT provide one unless you bring your V5 registration document for your vehicle and a second form of ID such as UK driving licence or debit/credit card. Anyone taking their hire trailer without a legal number plate do so at their own risk. (Please note handwritten number plates are not classed as a legal number plate).
European Travel
Any trailers hired for European Travel must be booked via the office, you will also need to arrange European Recovery for the trailer and provide us with the documents proving the trailer is fully covered.
